CELEBRATED super-cop and former head of Lagos State Anti Robbery Squad, Abba Kyari, is still in a flurry of excitement as he has just been promoted to the chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

The promotion is coming weeks after resuming at his new office, Force Headquarters in Abuja. Though many said the promotion is long overdue following his several exploits in his five years sojourn in Lagos State, where he proved his mettle, the name, however, means different things to different people.

The name is a pride to personnel of the Nigeria Police Force. It is a name that connotes gallantry, safety. The brilliance and vigilance of Kyari in hunting and tracking down armed robbers, often leading to arrests, endeared him to many political leaders, especially the former governor of Lagos State, Raji Fashola, who gave him many awards for gallantry.

He seemed to have a flair for catching the most hard to catch armed robbers. One of his popular achievements is his ingenuity and cleverness is hunting and arresting the kidnappers who abducted the mother of the former Minister of Finance, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala in Delta State, and the arrest of notorious South West armed robber, ‘Godogodo.’
