Excitement, as winners emerge in Best Model Nigeria 2017
The Four Point by Sheraton Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, was the place to be recently, as celebrities and fun loving Lagosians converged for this year’s edition of the Best Model Nigeria contest.
Put together by Emmanuel Okitiakpe and Augustina Okitiakpe of Modelslink International, the show, which was anchored by the duo of comedian MC Abbey and fashion designer Vera Onaro was not just about modeling; it was an evening of pure entertainment and excitement.
The evening was spiced with performances by some of the finest in the music and comedy section of the industry such as MC Obele Ife, AK Fly, Modana, T-Play, NEDRO and MC Senator. Notable among guests are Gloria Dafeta, who represented and received the award for the DiG, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency Nigeria (SMEDAN) Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda, Best Model of World Joy Ejiro Akpokiniove, the President Nigerian Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry Mr. Oye Akinsemoyin, Dr. Austin Izagbo, Mr. Frank Oshodi, Uche Naji and others.
The high point of the event was when the judges made up of Goodness Ugbah, Segun Oyeyemi, Adedamola Cruz and Stephanie Cole, announced Miss Agu Chnonso Nneze Lucy as the winner of Face of the World Nigeria 2017; she will represent Nigeria at Best Model of the World in Paris France 2017 and Face of the World in the United Kingdom in 2018. Meanwhile, Michael Okorodudu Ajose picked the male category and will represent Nigeria at Best Model of the World in Paris France 2017. Best Model Nigeria 2017 (Female) was clinched by Kadiri Adepeju Tejumola, who will represent Nigeria at Best Model of the World in Paris France 2017.
The platform has in the past produced super model of Nigerian origin, who are making waves all over the world. Nigeria, through Modelslink activity, has also made great progress in the international fashion and style industry by wining several international modeling and beauty contest such as the Face of the world 2015 in the United Kingdom and now the Best Model of the world 2016 in Istanbul Turkey.
These achievements have impacted greatly in the growth of the fashion, modeling industries and youth development in Nigeria, which are some of the objective for setting up the competition, according to the organisers.
