Former IDL Chairman, Oloye Oladotun Okubanjo Remembered

TODAY, Saturday, August, 22, marks the three years after Oloye Oladotun Okubanjo, one of the Nigerian’s foremost industrialists and business moguls, went to the great beyond.

Oloye Okubanjo was the founder and past Chairman of Intercontinental Distillers Nigeria Limited (IDL), and former director on the board of EcoBank Nigeria Plc.

He was also the longest serving President of Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce among his several business exploits. To herald his remembrance, his family members are expected to celebrate him in death today at his Badore, Lekki, Lagos home.

Reverend Edith Okubanjo, the widow of the late businessman, while speaking with High Society, said: “I missing him a lot because he was my friend and we did a lot of things together.

He was my mentor and counselor, so you can’t just forget a man that you spent 40 years with”. To give him special remembrance yearly, Rev. Okubanjo added: “I have done a lot and I’m still going to do more to keep his memory alive and we will not relent in keeping his memory alive as long as we live”.

Oloye Okubanjo was a man whose business ideas knew no limit and his visible talents and abilities always brought him to the notice of companies, both local and international, who sought his active participation and involvement.
