HP unveils new devices to boost gaming technology performance

HP’s has restated its commitment to pushing performance, personalisation, and creativity forward for all gamers as it merger of its OMEN and HyperX gaming brands under a single identity, HyperX, and introduced new hardware at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

The company said the move brings its gaming laptops, monitors, accessories and related software under one brand structure.

The company’s announcements come as major technology companies continue to expand their presence in the gaming hardware market, which has seen strong growth driven by esports, content creation and increasingly powerful consumer PCs and consoles.

HP stated that by bringing OMEN and HyperX under one brand, it is positioning itself to compete more directly with rivals that already offer tightly integrated hardware and accessory ecosystems.

The company said the move is aimed at streamlining its gaming portfolio and offering what it described as an end-to-end ecosystem covering laptops, displays, peripherals and software.

The announcement was also accompanied by the unveiling of new products, including a high-end gaming laptop, a wide-screen OLED monitor, an arcade-style controller and a prototype headset that uses neurotechnology.

HP preview the headset being developed in partnership with Neurable, a company specialising in brain-computer interface technology.

According to HP, the prototype headset is intended to interpret certain brain signals in real time, with the aim of helping players improve focus and accuracy during gameplay.

Speaking at the event, HP’s Senior Vice President and Division President for Personal Systems Gaming Solutions, Josephine Tan, said the brand consolidation and new products were intended to create a more unified experience for gamers across devices and accessories.

Tan said the new structure now delivers an end-to-end experience that combines decades of innovation in gaming PCs, displays, peripherals, and software.

She said this milestone underscores HP’s commitment to pushing performance, personalization, and creativity forward for all gamers.

“Gamers deserve a seamless experience that matches their passion, from the systems that power their worlds to the gear that connects them. As we bring OMEN and HyperX together, we’re continuing to push the boundaries of gaming innovation, delivering performance, personalisation and experiences that help every player reach their full potential,” she said.

The company also introduced a 34-inch HyperX OMEN OLED monitor system, designed to operate at up to 300 watts of total platform power and will include an updated cooling system with an additional fan.

In the peripherals category, HP announced the HyperX Clutch Tachi that allows users to customise button mapping and actuation through HP’s NGENUITY software.

The company said the controller uses a leverless design and magnetic switches, and supports user customisation through its software.

HP further disclosed that it is working with Neurable on a headset that uses brain-computer interface technology, adding that the device remains in development and did not give a timeline for its release.

The company added that the new devices controller are expected to be released in the spring of 2026, with pricing to be announced later.
