Fast-rising Nigerian-British chanteuse, Lucianne, is yet on another move to prove her mettle across the African music scene, as she returns with a vibrant love spinner dubbed, Te Amo. The singer, who is still reeling off the success of her erstwhile release, More, returns with her RnB mastery on this record, reminding listeners that it is completely okay to remain vulnerable in love.

Produced by ace sound whiz, Majeek, Te Amo sees Lucianne open up about a more vulnerable phase in relationships and expressing defiance in the face of her lover not respecting her worth. Lucianne’s lyrical dexterity soars over this record, as she weaves storytelling and sonics to pass her message across.

In a chat with Weekend Beats, the singer explains the inspiration behind the record. “Te Amo is an anthem for women. I want it to give women the strength, whenever they hear this song, to boldly recognise their worth and to fight for it. I think we have all been in situations where you meet someone, and that initial honeymoon phase is amazing, and you can’t get enough of them, but then comfort kicks in, and they just aren’t acting right anymore. Te Amo is me basically screaming that if they ain’t loving you right, then they’ve got to go! Love me or leave me!”

Lucianne, who began her career at age 11 performing on the X-Factor UK, has had an impressive career rise. She burst onto the UK Afrobeats music scene a few years ago, with support from the likes of BBC 1Xtra and Soundcity TV, before crossing over to achieve success as an actress in Nollywood, starring in blockbusters such as Three Thieves (Netflix) and Dark Room, among others.
