Towards boosting the nation’s economy through Tourism, Nigerians in the Diaspora Organisation Europe (NIDOE)- Austria chapter, has organised a tourism promotion conference.

The maiden conference is billed for the historic city of Vienna, Austria on the 1st of July, this year.

The main objective of the conference which has been receiving support from the group chapter in Europe is to woo investors that could help turn around the fortune of the nation’s tourism sector.

According to a statement issued by the group and made available to The Guardian, the conference will also serves as medium to intimate investors with the available opportunities of exploring the nation’s tourism products.

“Other area of concentration during the one-day conference is the area of familiarizing potential guests with the available tourist sites in Nigeria. Instead of spending hard earn money in Spain, Greece, Italy and other countries in Europe; Nigerians abroad will be encouraged to spend their holidays in their country”.

We have over 20 million of them and that can help revive Nigeria economy.

Secondary target of the group are the Europeans who are ignorant of tourism potentials in Nigeria. NIDOE needs to showcase the rich cultural heritage and numerous tourist sites to the world.

The conference themed ‘Why Wonder, visit the wonder land’ expects different states tourism board to make presentation on what they have to offer the potential guests.

“Nigeria could generate foreign exchange, provide employment and accelerate rural-urban integration by developing the tourism sector,” the statement added.
