Dr. Tokunbo Olorundami, popularly known as Toksdam, has been conferred with the Okun Youth Ambassador Award 2021.
While presenting the award to Olorundami at a recent event, President of Okun Youth Development Association (OYDA), Ms. Funke Juliana Ajayi, said the scholar, who is a leading aspirant in the 2023 Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu House of Representatives race, merited it because of his numerous contributions to the advancement of the cause of Okun youths in the year.

Ajayi noted that the award was also in recognition of his achievements in academics, stating that as a young man from Okun land, he has bagged a doctorate degree from Newcastle University, a Masters from the University of Nottingham and a second degree from the University of Dundee.

The apex platform of the youths across Okun land in Kogi State also recalled that Olorundami got his first Degree from the University of Calabar and currently lectures at the institution, Newcastle University and Oxford Brooke’s University.

The group also pointed out that Olorundami contributes to offshore windfarm development in Europe with his research work at European offshore development centre in Aberdeen, adding that he has attained the status of Chief Sustainability and Knowledge Officer of TerraGen Energy inc. Delawera, U.S.

The awardee, represented by Mr. Olorundami Bodunde, while receiving the award, thanked the youth body for the honour, saying it came at a time youths were stepping up to the challenges of social responsibility and leadership reorientation in Nigeria.

While reacting to the award, the Director-General of Toksdam Initiative, Mr. Aribido David, said the award was an addition to numerous awards that had been conferred on Olorundami in recognition of his inputs toward the development of communities across Kogi State. He pointed out that Olorundami was also honoured recently at Kessignton Palace London at the African Achievers Awards in the category of Academic Excellence and Leadership.

David exuded confidence in Olorundami’s current political ambition, stating that his vast experience, exposure and leadership prowess would be brought to action for the general good of the people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency when elected.
