In its bid to support education and local development, the OSF initiative has donated over 2,000 writing materials including notebooks, calculators, and mathematical sets to children in Ondo East Local Council, Ondo State.

In its bid to support education and local development, the OSF initiative has donated over 2,000 writing materials including notebooks, calculators, and mathematical sets to children in Ondo East Local Council, Ondo State.

The initiative, led by philanthropist Olarinde Steve Falekulo, also provided cash empowerment to local youths and the Oloja of Fagbo Paadi, Chief Oluwasiji Akinola, as part of a broader community revitalisation effort.

In his speech, Falekulo explained the motivation behind the initiative and his commitment to future-proofing his home community. “Education is the key to unlock potential, both for individuals and communities.

“After spending years abroad and observing how developed nations invest in their youth, I knew I had to contribute to the future of my people in Ondo. This donation is just the beginning, a seed that we hope to grow into something much larger, reaching every corner of Ondo State.” Falekulo emphasised that the initiative would not end with the donation, revealing plans to expand the programme across other local councils in the state.

The Oloja of Fagbo Paadi, Akinola, expressed deep gratitude for the donation, highlighting its importance in improving the lives of children and the community at large. “This generous act will leave an incredible mark on our community.

“Many of our families have struggled with the rising cost of living, and this donation has brought relief and hope to our children. Steve’s commitment to the community, despite being abroad for many years, is something we deeply appreciate.

This is a powerful demonstration of how one can return to their roots to make a lasting difference.” The representative of the community Baale, who doubles as the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) Chairman, Mr. Abraham Oke, added: “This is a dream come true for many parents who have been unable to provide their children with basic learning tools. Thanks to this initiative, our children can now focus on their studies without worry. It is initiatives like this that remind us of the importance of community-led support.”
