The reigning Miss Tourism Eastern Nigeria, Joy Echezona, has promised to make good of her office and position to promote Nigeria’s culture and tourism. The Anambra born model stated this during her thanksgiving service at the Bishop Crowther Memorial Anglican Church, Idah, Kogi State, after her emergence at the event staged at the Robbi Event Center, Lagos.

In her welcome address, queen Echezona identified the importance of culture and tourism and thanked the organiser of the event, Santiago Robertson for creating a wonderful platform that helps young ladies discover themselves and make their dreams come true.

“Emerging as Miss Tourism is a dream come true for me. Santiago saw the need for our culture to have more value and decided to create a platform that promote and showcase our culture to the world. In this regard, promoting our culture and tourism will be my ultimate goal as the reigning queen. I believe in the strength of the youths and they will serve as catalyst in carrying out my role effectively,” she assured.

Also speaking, her manager, Okeme Kelvin, popularly known as Mc Brahmz, expressed his profound gratitude to God for a successful emergence of the new queen.

“Pageantry in Nigeria is not prostitution or an avenue to become wild and uncontrollable, rather it is an opportunity that exposes young people to compete with their counterparts within and outside the country thereby expanding their knowledge.”

On his part, Robertson promises to guide the young queen and urged her to ensure that she makes good use of her office to organise events that will attract foreigners to invest in our culture, which will contribute to the development of this nation and aid our economy.

Notable among dignitaries at the thanksgiving event include former Miss Kogi, Titilope Kowiyat, CEO Brahmz Afrque Media, Okeme Kelvin, veteran journalist Damodu Solomon and others.
