Today, starting from 4pm, “The Excision,” which is the second edition of the highly anticipated “Rhyme and Reason” concert, will take place at The Dome, off Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos. Excision, the act of pulling up or out, uprooting, and cutting off from existence, summarizes what is expected at the end of this life-changing concert.

According to Rhyme and Reason Content Developer, Christianah Adeyemi, “It is about creating a platform through which people come together to creatively express themselves, in the fast-growing art form referred to as spoken word and rap, highlighting issues and challenges that affect every area of their lives, with a view to proposing solutions”.

The first edition of Rhyme and Reason concert was held in 2014 at Landmark events centre, Oniru. Some of the artistes that graced the stage included  renowned rap artiste and Grammy award nominee, Da T.R.U.T.H. as well as P4CM’s Ezekiel and Janette…ikz.

“The Excision” which is the second edition promises to be even bigger and better as Ezekiel and Janette…ikz would be joined by fellow “A” list spoken word artistes – Preston Perry and Jackie Hill Perry. They are some of the best four spoken word poets in the world, and they will join their Nigerian counterparts to deliver a mind-blowing concert. This year’s concert is a free event. However, registration is required athttp://rhymeandreasonng.com as limited seats are available.
