This piece is meant to present the award of the ‘Longest Nollywood Movie’ to the reading public.
And so, T4T was watching this Yoruba movie titled, Fabunmi. Directed by Dare Agbejo, the 2022 flick starred Ibrahim Chatta and Ronke Odusanyan, among others. It started at 9:00pm penultimate Tuesday on DSTV and ended exactly 2.15am. That is five whole hours of twisted, most times meaningless plot. At a point, it was just all movement, no motion and by midnight, T4T was done because not only was the movie no longer making sense, it became the most tortuous screen experience T4T had been subjected to in his over five decades on mother earth! Agbejo, the Director, deserves an Oscar plus even a Grammy for putting out such a ‘world class’ Yoruba movie. In fact, T4T will also nominate him for a national honour such as OON or OFR, the guy try. Hope President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is reading this, just in case he is compiling the list of recipients of the next set of national honours. Nor be only awa girls wey win WAFCON deserve the award, Agbejo deserve am too!
Peller, It Is Not Your Fault!
“GOVERNMENT Please I need you to pity me. I don’t have anything, I am just managing. How can you tell me to come and pay a huge tax? Do you want me to kpai? You also have someone like me as a child at home? Why are you doing this to me?” What you read up there came from young skit maker, popularly called Peller in reaction to the move by government to make sure he begins to pay taxes as he is so rich from what he does online. Peller is making so much money but don’t want to pay taxes. He flaunts wealth daily on and offline, talking in millions and billions, yet feels he should not pay his taxes. Clowns like him are screaming daily online that they want a better Nigeria, they abuse leaders daily on social media, and they want Nigeria to become America and Dubai and other developed countries, but to pay ordinary income tax, just see what is coming from Peller. Anyway, it is not Peller’s fault, it is government’s.
The Pastor As ‘Flogging Machine’
RECENTLY, a certain Pastor was arrested by the Rivers State Police Command for alleged child abi na children abuse sef. The ‘man of God’ was picked up after a video made its way to the Internet showing the preacher man mercilessly beating some kids in the name of spiritual ‘deliverance’.
Now, if the viewer was appalled by the vicious manner the ‘man of god’ was seen flogging the ‘devil’ out of the kids, he should be more aghast when he saw another video of some men and women who claimed to be parents of the children protesting in front of the police division calling for the release of their ‘beloved’ Pastor as according to them, they gave him the consent to whip the living daylights out of their ‘possessed’ kids! E shock you abi? E nor shock T4T sha. The incident only reinforced the decision of T4T not to be religious in any form. Now, you see why T4T does not go to church? Religion has a way of taking the senses from followers, any religion, no exception! May we all receive sense in the name of anything we serve!
‘Jigi’… You Are Doing Great!
MRS T4T had accused him on several occasions of not seeing ‘anything good’ in people and things, especially when writing anything. An allegation he had vehemently denied. To prove her wrong, T4T hereby present to you one of the best travel and tourism TV programmes in recent times.
Anchored by Oluwatoyin Oki, the programme currently on DSTV, is a masterpiece. About a month ago, T4T scrolled and discovered it (the way Mungo Park ‘discovered the Niger River), on AfricaMagic Yoruba. If you want to know about all the tourist attractions in Yoruba land, as well as different other things like the Yoruba food, fashion, culture among others, then you should do like T4T and ‘discover’ Jigi. It is very revealing, professionally produced, even for none Yoruba viewers. T4T had always thought that the only waterfall in Yoruba land is the one in Ekiti State, until he saw the one unveiled in Oyo State or so. Anyway, T4T now wakes up early daily to drink from the fountain of Ms abi na Mrs Oki’s knowledge. Ride on mi lady, you are doing great and shame to bad people wey say T4T nor dey see anything good in what other people dey do!
