Mrs. Inara Agiobu-Kemmer (Dec. 29, 1965- Jan. 16, 2020)

Mrs. Inara Josephine Ngozi Agiobu-Kemmer (nee Waribigha) was born into the family of Mr. Joseph Apriye and Mrs. Bernice Karieopiri (nee Inatimi-Edward Waribigha) of Brass Local Council of Bayelsa State.

Mrs. Inara Josephine Ngozi Agiobu-Kemmer (nee Waribigha) was born into the family of Mr. Joseph Apriye and Mrs. Bernice Karieopiri (nee Inatimi-Edward Waribigha) of Brass Local Council of Bayelsa State. She attended Methodist Primary School, Surulere, (1974 to 1979), where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate.

She also obtained her GCE ‘O’ Level certificate after completing her secondary school education, which was split between her time in New Era Girls’ Secondary School, Surulere, Lagos and Government Girls’ Secondary School, Port Harcourt.

She later studied at the Rivers State College of Education, where she obtained her National Certificate in Education (NCE) in Primary Education/ Social Studies from 1988 to 1991. She also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration in 2006 at University of Abuja.

She began her career in the Federal Civil Service as an Executive Officer at Federal Ministry of Health and Social Sciences, Abuja in 1993. A diligent and dedicated woman, she rose through the ranks, until she achieved the highest level of Chief Executive Officer in 2011. She was later deployed to the Management Services Department of the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in 2001 and later, to the Training Office in Federal Ministry of Transport, where she worked until her demise.

A devout Christian, she was a member of First Baptist Church, Kubwa, Abuja. She later joined the late Rev. Olurotimi Moses Owolabi to worship at Jibi English Baptist Church and later joined Rev Owolabi to establish Cornerstone Baptist Church, Abuja, where she was the first Secretary (2008 – 2010) and later President of the Women’s Union. She also served in the Children’s Department of the Church.

A lover of people, Inara died on January 16, 2020 from surgery complications.A sacrificially loving wife and mother, she served excellently at home, school, work, church and wherever she found herself. Adieu, Inara Agiobu-Kemmer, adorable wife, dutiful mother, loving daughter, sister, Administrator par excellence. Sleep on until we meet again, to part no more!
