What began as a niche gathering seven years ago has now grown into a nationally recognised tourism and culture event that draws thousands of attendees yearly, from Lagos and across Nigeria – and increasingly, from the diaspora.
The Convener, Foodaholics Festival, Geena Ehikodi Ojo, said this during a briefing in Lagos recently to announce the seventh edition of the yearly food fair billed to hold on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the iconic JJT Park in Alausa, Ikeja.
With its growing international appeal, the festival attracts guests not only from across Nigeria but also from the UK, US, Ghana, and other countries, cementing its role as a driver of cultural exchange and diaspora engagement.
The 2025 festival, which is organised by Foodies & Spice, would curate a full-blown experience – from a sprawling food court with Nigerian delicacies, to the famous Daddy’s Corner for the men – with grills, games, music and drinks; from masterclasses to live fashion runways and music performances to family play zones, sip-and-paint experiences, cooking competitions, product launches, celebrity meet-and-greets, others.
Positioning Lagos on the map of global food culture festival, Foodaholic Festival is a celebration of identity, innovation, and community, Ojo said, adding that it is a place where small businesses blossom, where big brands engage directly with their consumers, and where families, foodies, influencers, and culture enthusiasts gather to enjoy a multi-sensory experience like no other.
“Over the years, we’ve proudly built a legacy – one that showcases Lagos as the culinary capital of Nigeria, a city that celebrates not just food, but the creative spirit of its people. We are particularly proud of the festival’s growing role in driving local tourism and boosting the Lagos economy. From job creation and vendor empowerment to increased foot traffic in the hospitality and retail sectors, the Foodaholics Festival has proven to be a powerful economic engine.”
The convener also revealed that the Lagos State government through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture has officially endorsed this year’s festival.
“This is not just a win for the festival – it is recognition of the role the creative industry plays in shaping the image, economy, and future of Lagos. Their unwavering support affirms the festival’s position as a key cultural and tourism event on the Lagos calendar. We are grateful to Lagos State for recognising the impact the Foodaholic Festival has on local tourism, youth engagement, SME development, and the creative economy. Also, this event not only celebrates our love for food and culture, but also fosters community, supports small businesses, and promotes social inclusion,” Ojo said.
