Governor Otu, who welcomed tourists and visitors across the world to the 2023 Carnival Calabar during an event that heralds the festival at the Millennium Park, Calabar recently, noted that the city of Calabar is adequately prepared to host guests from far and near to take part in the biggest ceremony in Africa.
He assured guests that they would enjoy the hospitality of Calabar and experience destination Nigeria to the core.
Meanwhile, to aid travelers to destination Calabar, Nigeria’s oldest aviation company, Aero Contractors has expanded its fleet with three repaired aircraft from its Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) arm.
The increased fleet supports the upcoming Carnival Calabar, with three daily flights from Lagos to Calabar and plans for further expansion based on demand.
The airline resumed scheduled services from Murtala Muhammed Airport Two to Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar.
Recall that Governor Bassey Out pledged to increase the state’s aircraft fleet from two to five.
Governor Otu emphasised the state’s commitment to positioning itself as a tourism destination, investing in airport infrastructure for extended operational hours and international status.
The recent arrival of a Boeing 737-300 marked a celebratory moment, with the governor and dignitaries welcoming the aircraft at Margaret Ekpo International Airport.
Remarking on the development, Aero Contractors’ CEO, Capt. Ado Sanusi highlighted the successful joint venture with the Cross River government, bringing two Boeing 737 aircraft into service.
