Aliu explained that the theme for conference is: ‘Innovation, Diversity and Development for Global Sustainability’. He added that the conference will hold from July 13 — 15, 2017 at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos.

He said, “The Model United Nation Conference is an international organisational simulation that involves simulating various international organisations land agencies as obtained in the UN. We want to bring together students from institutions in Nigeria. During the simulation, delegates take on the roles of diplomats from other countries, international organisations among others to simulate various committees of international bodies such as the United Nations and the African Union.

“Through the process, delegates will learn communication skills; diplomacy, public speaking, resolution writing, international politics and law, international economics/trade relations, and the complexities of international negotiations and most importantly, team work/cooperation.

Aliu further explained that the Lagos MUN group is dedicated to hosting the best MUN conference and giving the delegates an unforgettable experience, whilst remaining true to its mission of contributing to social change, creation of a more peaceful world and molding leaders for future generations.

“In this light, LMUN has added three new committees, namely — the United Nations Children’s Fund, The Executive Council of The African Union and the Economic, Cultural and Social Committee of the African Union, to among others, discourse/provide a more diverse blend of world issues; put under examination issues that are more specific to the African continent and give an enhanced consideration to children and issues that relate to them. We are committed to giving delegates the most intense conference experience with our very capable dias, and bring them closer to the real UN with expert briefings across all committees,” he stated.
