The plain white tee-shirt is undeniably a fundamental wardrobe staple that cuts across both genders and has been around forever. The T-shirt’s origin and purpose was an undergarment, yet today, it is a revered classic look; pair a tee with any type of bottom whatsoever and you cannot go wrong.

A T-shirt is the complete staple of any wardrobe and simple as it may seem, the classic tee lends itself to an array of choices and styles and the many variations it possesses means there is always a firm place for them in everyone’s closet.

During the dry season, a t-shirt can easily be customized by rolling up the sleeves thereby transforming your entire look and creating an effortless, chic look. During the rains or cold weather, you can dress it up with whatever you like, a jacket, blazer or sweater. Its simplicity often denotes sophistication and can even transcend to office wear, depending on what you pair it with. Really, it is hard to find any other item of clothing that can create so many varied expressions and style like the t-shirt can.

This fashion staple can be paired with just about everything, from jeans of all types to pants, swing skirts, short skirts, long skirts, straight skirts and overalls. The basic tee is a foundational outfit- add a few accessories and you’re good to go.

Essential, timeless pieces such as this are worthy investments, as they will outlive any fad/trends, season after season. Note that they can be paired with bottoms of any colour or print and scarves are a great and simple way to pull in different patterns to create different looks. Statement necklaces are also quick ways to add interest to the otherwise plain tee and you’re set to hit the town.
