Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe popularly known as Wande Coal has returned to the scene with a new album titled, “Legend Or No Legend. ”

The singer and songwriter got his first break in the Nigerian entertainment industry as a dancer. In 2006, he signed onto Don Jazzy’s MO ‘Hits Records and also featured in D’banj’s Rundown/Funk You Up album on singles such as “Loke,” “Tonosibe” and “Why Me.”

He played a major role in the release of “Curriculum Vitae (CV)” album. His first single of the CV album, “Ololufe” has been described as one of the greatest love songs ever written by a Nigerian. Coal later released his debut album titled “Mushin” which received rave reviews across Nigeria, UK and the United States of America.

Coal has also recorded tracks with other Nigerian artistes, including Ikechukwu, Phyno, Davido, Naeto C, Dr. SID, D’Prince and Wizkid.

As a result of the squabble within the executives of Mo’Hits in 2012, Coal left the record label for Mavin Records and due to alleged theft of one of his songs and other issues, he on November 7, 2013 left the record label for Mavin Records and later released a single titled “Baby Face.”

And after a long hiatus, Coal dropped his second album, “Wanted.” Most reviews of the album placed it on a scale that is a little above average.

From “You Bad” to “Wanted and later “Realms,” Coal has always come up with captivating songs. Certainly, his latest work, “Legend or No Legend,” which is his fourth studio album and has been highly anticipated will not be a disappointment.

Dropped on May 18, 2023, the album features superstars, including Wizkid, Fireboy, Olamide and Tpain, and also showcases Coal’s versatility as an Afrobeat artiste. He creatively incorporated diverse range of Afrobeat sounds to truly leave a legacy. The album will surely be Coal’s most personal and introspective album, especially as he delves into different themes, including losses, love, and the challenges that come with fame.

Speaking about his latest work, Coal said: “This album is a reflection of my growth as an artiste and as a person. I can’t wait for my fans to connect with it.”

Once again, Wande Coal has set a new standard for contemporary Afrobeat music with “Legend or No Legend.” The album is poised to become a classic one and will serve as a testament to Wande Coal’s versatility and his ability to create music that resonates with a wide audience.
