For 10 weeks, three out of twenty-one contestants from the six geopolitical zones of the country, who can tell the story(ies) of their hoods (their origin) convincingly and able to win the heart of Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), Innocent Ujah Idibia (2Baba), Ini Edo and Oke Bakasi will win N20 million and a brand-new car, N10 million and five million respectively.

In the show that will kick off from the second week of February 2022, contestants will have to showcase their culture, talent, and creativity in a 45 seconds video to be selected by the judges and voted by Nigerians.

Speaking during the unveiling, CEO, Nevada Bridge TV, Neville Sajere, said: “I feel accomplished, I feel fulfilled, it’s a dream come true for me. This is a day that I have prayed and hoped for that we would eventually be unveiled the day the show would start.

“Picking the contestants to be in the show, one of those things we looked out for was how knowledgeable they are about their hood, about the Nigeria system, about the Nigeria value, how much they know about us as a people and more interesting people that were born in different states. We looked out for value, culture, what they are going to sell to the rest of the world because it is time for us to tell our story. Nobody can tell our stories like us. That’s what we looked for to pick the 21 people that will represent their hoods.

“We had over 27,000 applicants, where we cut to 1000 then to 300, for the live audition and we had to narrow it to 100 contestants then we cut them to another 40 then to 30, then to 21 who are going to make it to the house.

On what the judges will be looking out for in the winner, the show creator said: “We have different tasks that they will do for 10 weeks, so it depends on how knowledgeable a contestant is about the Nigerian culture, about the Nigerian system, about our values. Mainly it’s going to be dependent on the vote of viewers on who they want to see as the next Naija Hood Rep.

He added: “There will be three winners, this is not a winner take all. The winner will go home with a N20 million cash prize and a car, while the first runner-up would get N10 million, and the second runner-up would get N5m.
On what makes the reality show stands out, he said: “First and foremost we like to support our own, we like to support where we come from, we like to support anything that represents us.

“Someone said she was a Port Harcourt first daughter during one of BBNaija reality shows and everybody from Rivers State came to support her then another one, Efe called himself Warri boy and everybody supported him because he was from Warri, then we thought about that, we discovered we like to support our hood. For example, I am from Delta State but I was born and raised in Lagos. I grew up in Festac town so, if I hear anything about Festac Town, it gives me nostalgia. We are not divided. We are one united people.”
