With a voice that soothes the soul and a heart that beats for the vulnerable, the gospel musician, evangelist, actor, and traditional Yoruba wedding MC (Alaga) is on a mission to spread the Gospel and care for the elderly. Through her uplifting music and selfless community outreach, Holy Soja is inspiring a new generation of believers to live out their faith in practical and meaningful ways.

Born into a musical family, Holy Soja’s love for singing began early. Her uncles, one of whom was well-known in Ogun State before his passing, were renowned musicians. Even the legendary I.K. Dairo once sang under one of her uncles.

To fan her singing skill, she joined the church choir at just 13 years old, serving actively at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) before later joining The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), where she contributed to the choir, participated in the drama ministry before forming the Ogo Oluwa Christian Cultural Dancing Group.

Her passion for ministry, music, and humanitarian work has shaped her journey, leading to the creation of the Olufunmi Adedayo Aged Care Charity Foundation, an organisation dedicated to supporting the elderly.

Describing herself as an evangelist whose mission is to win souls through gospel music. Over the years, she has released several albums, including Holy Ghost Way (2001), A Masterpiece Praise, and Helper of the Helpless. Her latest single, The Prodigal Child, released two weeks ago, calls on those who have strayed from God to return to His open arms.

According to her, witnessing the neglect and mistreatment of older people in society inspired her establishment of the Olufunmi Adedayo Aged Care Charity Foundation. “Many are abandoned, wrongly accused of witchcraft due to memory loss, or left without proper care. Through the foundation, we provide medical support, food, and social gatherings, such as the Annual Old People’s Party, ensuring that they feel valued and loved,” she said.

Holy Soja stated that a key part of her outreach is “Jamming for Jesus”, an annual gospel event now in its 12th year. This unique street gospel program uses music, dance, and worship to bring people closer to God.

“The event serves as an outreach, offering free medical care and food to those in need. The next edition is set for February 8, at Okito Junction, Ajegunle, Lagos, and we will be having performances from Righteous Man, Ifeanyi Godwin, Rev. Stephen Adewale, Rev. Aderemi Adenike, Ethel Osita Nnadi, and Eromi.
