Young Famous & African

American subscription video on-demand streaming service platform, Netflix announced Monday that its reality show, Young, Famous & African is returning for a third season.

A statement by the medium stated that Nollywood diva, Ini Edo, South African content creator Kefilwe Mabote, and entrepreneur Shakib Lutaaya are joining the show, along with the returning cast Zari Hassan, Swanky Jerry, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, Diamond Platnumz, Naked DJ, Kayleigh Schwark, Fantana, Luis Munana, Nadia Nakai and Khanyi Mbau as drama unfolds., while SA TV personality Bonang Matheba will not be returning for the show’s third season.

Netflix, yesterday, released a trailer for the new eight-episode season. “Eight episodes pull back the curtains on fractured marriages, fragile friendships and fresh connections. It all ends in premium tears,” the press release said.

“I know it’s going to end in premium tears, but so long as I’m the king of the jungle, we’re good. It’s a tantalizing glimpse into the drama, decadence, and chaos set to unfold,” renowned stylist Swanky Jerry declares in the newly-released trailer.

Directed by Wesley Makgamatha and executively produced by Adelaide Joshua-Hill, Martin Asare-Amankwa and Peace Hyde, the SAFTA-winning unscripted series was made by the production company Urban Brew Studios and Apop Media, with showrunner Jwalane Letaba.

In its previous seasons, the show combined the excesses of celebrity and socialite lifestyle with ego-driven conflict and moments of vulnerability. It has spawned several highlights and driven a handful of viral conversations, living up to its title as “Africa’s hottest reality series.”
