While his new single Isabella is making massive waves on TikTok, Nigerian budding artist, Infinity Vibes has a few words to share about his music, the current state of the Nigerian music industry and his future plans.
Originally born as Tinuosho Ganiu Olaitan, Infinity Vibes started professional music in 2021 and within a short time of launching his music career, he has released two hit singles titled ‘Girls I Like’ and his most recent release, ‘Isabella’.
Talking about the inspiration behind the single ‘Isabella’, Infinity Vibes revealed that he was inspired by the love of his life, whose name coincidentally is Isabella.
He said: “My girlfriend’s name is Isabella. She has been a back bone, a friend and confidant. She always supported my dream and when you have a girlfriend who supports your dreams and aspirations, then you should appreciate such a woman. So I wrote the song to express my gratitude to her, now that things are starting to improve for me. It was only good that I honoured her.”
In his opinion, partners should be helpful to each other, be there for one another. No one should go into a relationship for any other reason than to love, cherish and grow together.
“Asa’s personality and unique singing style inspire me so much. She’s someone who releases music at any time, and people just have to listen. I love the way she does music. She stands out,” Infinity Vibes said.
Within the next five years, Infinity Vibes wants to be well known for his music globally. He wants to become a global sensation.
He believes that the problem in the industry for independent artists like himself is the high cost of promotion required to break out in the industry, which is sometimes ridiculously high and overwhelming, and that the solution is to create a level playing field so that talented unsigned artists and those in small labels can make their music heard and reap the benefits as well.
In addition, he said that there need to be checks and balances among music promoters, as the industry is full of scammers who take funds from artists and do not deliver, leaving artists practically helpless. Saying that thousands of artists have fallen into this trap and this has dampened their interest in the music industry.
