Nissi Ogulu’s Creele Studios unveils The Satchel soundtrack
Following positive reception that greeted the release of The Satchel, a 3D animated African film, fast-rising motion picture studios, Creele Studios has released the official accompanying soundtrack of the same title.
The Creele team produced the soundtrack, which was solely composed by acclaimed singer Nissi Ogulu, who is also the sister to Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy. Specifically, Kizz Ernie, T.U.C, and Prince Ekanim are the sound whiz who worked on the soundpiece. The project itself is an emotive record which has themes woven around gratitude, love, as well as folklore.
Beginning with the track, Adupe, the soundtrack gives off an upbeat inspirational vibe, which is beautifully laced with Ogulu’s child-like vocals, before transiting to Wonderful, which is a love story between the deity Oduduwa and his human lover Dotun. It closes with Bata, which eulogizes the ancient Yoruba Bata drum.
The Satchel is currently available on YouTube, and it has won the Viewers Choice Award for Best International Animated Short Film at this year’s edition of the Cannes Independent International Film Festival (CIIFF).
