A new record label, GBC Records has given Nigerian music lovers reason to cheer through its fast rising new sign-ons, who are already making waves in the music scene.

One of the two singing sensations is 20-year-old Anih Elijah, also known as Rord Kelly. Rord Kelly has shown his consistence as a rapper, trapper and performing artiste from East of the Niger.

Kelly, who was signed to GBC Records in 2021, continues to inspire hope with his steady rise to prominence through mind-blowing and body-stumping beats that have become street anthems.

On account of these street anthems, he has earned for himself the street name “Kelly D Badman.” He doesn’t seem to allow his successes slow him down, especially given the soar-away reception of such great hits as, Verified Ogbe and Money Matter. Both songs are currently street anthems in Onitsha and Enugu as well as in the Diaspora.

Rord recently jumped on the Go German challenge, for the record made by another sensational (King Perryy) and hinted on his up coming number titled, AMARA, Igbo word for grace.

Then there is Charles Chisom Metu, with the stage name, CC2, who signed on in 2020. Since signing on the GBC Records, CC2 has dropped many songs under the record label. They include, Big Fish, produced by Nkwasmith; Fire flames, produced by Spellzjamin; Focus, produced by Spellzjamin; Verified Ogbe Remix with Rordkelly; No Cap, produced by Nkwasmith and Looking in the mirror, among other hits.

From his splendid office at Isaac Jacob Apartment, Orchid Road, Lekki, Lagos State, chairman of GBC Records, Onyeobodo, told The Guardian that GBC Entertainment was founded in the year 2020.

Giving kudos to what the media is doing for Nigeria’s entertainment industry, Onyeobodo said: “GBC Entertainment was inspired by my love for the entertainment industry and the quest to invest in talented artistes, seeing them grow and pushing their dreams beyond limits.”

He disclosed that within the short period of its debut, GBC has become a fast growing record label adding, “Currently, we’re working with a Manager, Producer, Driver, Photographer, DJ and other ancillary staff.”

What does the future hold for GBC and its vision? “The Goal of GBC is beyond just entertainment; even though entertaining is a huge part of our goal. We also want to invest in the growth, talent building of artistes and other staff as well as propelling them to live up to their full potentials and attain great results,” Onyeobodo stated.

He remarked that the two artistes signed on the record label, CC2 and Rord Kelly are doing excellently fine, stressing that Rord Kelly, who is the latest act have dropped sensational hits like, Verified Ogbe (Remix Ft CC2), Money Matter and Amara, a new song dropping soon.
