Omasi Kingdom in Ayamelum Local Council of Anambra State, was in festive move recently, as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State on Social Media Ifeanyi Aniagoh, was inducted into the House of Chiefs by Igwe B. O. Okeji (JP), the Traditional Ruler of the community, making him the youngest member of the Igwe’s Cabinet.

As soon as Aniagoh and his entourage, who took off from Abagana in Njokoka Local Council, stormed the arena, traditional music rented the air, as the community welcomed the young social media influencer, who by the induction, has become a member of the community.

In company of friends and political associates, Aniagoh danced round the arena, acknowledging cheers from excited crown, as native drums kept the entre arena lively. For the community, it was an opportunity to showcase their rich cultural heritage that has lasted for decades.

According to Igwe Okeji, who performed the traditional induction, “the Omasi Kingdom acknowledges individuals, who have shown special achievements with regards to community development, philanthropy, charity and human capacity development. These acknowledgements provide official recognition of efforts that improve the welfare of Ndi Omasi, Anambra State, our country Nigeria and humanity in general.”

He added that, “Having observed and truly felt the enormous and people-oriented causes of Ifeanyi Aniagoh, whose acts of charity are admirable and worthy of acknowledgement by his peers, we have the pleasure of proudly recognizing his efforts,” he said.
In his remark, Aniagoh thanked the traditional ruler and the entire Omasi Kingdom for finding him worthy of the honour.
“Recognitions like this encourage one to do more. I feel happy to be singled out for this honour and I promise to do my best in this capacity,” he said.

It would be recalled that Aniagoh was recently nominated for The Ford Foundation Prize in Youth Employment, by the Future Awards Africa (TFAA) 2015, alongside five other nominees from different parts of the country, who were honoured at the award ceremony in Lagos.

With the goal of the Ford Foundation in West Africa to improve governance systems and livelihood opportunities and TFAA to inspire the entire continent of Africa through the works of her citizenry, this award is designed to recognise and support young Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 33 involved in a social program or projects that contribute to fight youth unemployment in Nigeria.
