Nigeria’s Shapeera Wins Tecno Own The Stage

Last Sunday, Africa’s first Karaoke competition Tecno Own the Stage produced its first winner. Shapeera, who represented Nigeria, emerged winner after an intense battle with the other top four contestants.

Last Sunday, Africa’s first Karaoke competition Tecno Own the Stage produced its first winner. Shapeera, who represented Nigeria, emerged winner after an intense battle with the other top four contestants.

Sikin from Kenya took the second place, while Pascal also from Kenya and Nandy from Tanzania came in third and fourth positions respectively.

Speaking at the finale, the Head of Public Relations and Talent for M-Net West Africa, Efosa Aiyevbomwan said, “It’s been an exciting 12 weeks as all of Africa watched the amazing contestants battle for the grand prize and the honour of being the inaugural Own the Stage winner. At M-Net and Africa Magic, we are committed to investing in the African entertainment industry and the talent that drives it. Shapeera is the latest talent to be unraveled, courtesy TECNO Own the Stage.”

The finale ended with an exciting afterparty at Nigeria’s leading nightclub QUILOX in Lekki, Lagos.
Mr. Attai Oguche, Deputy Marketing Manager, Tecno Mobile said, “the brand remains resolute in rewarding and encouraging talent across Africa and the Own the Stage competition is a testament to this fact. Shapeera now has a chance to show the rest of the world just what she is made of.”
