Oyinda Akinyemi is an Executive Director of Stanbic IBTC Capital and Head of Equity Capital Markets for Africa Regions at Standard Bank Group where she oversees the origination and execution of capital-raising and listing transactions across multiple African countries outside South Africa.
Her deal portfolio spans various sectors and notable transactions she has led include the combined Offer of Zenith Bank, listing of Aradel Holdings; IPO of ENSA in Angola; MTN’s listings in Nigeria and Uganda; Airtel’s listings in Nigeria and Malawi; Seplat Energy’s pioneering dual listing, etc.
Oyinda contributes to several industry initiatives and was recently appointed as Chairperson of the Listings Working Group of the Securities & Exchange Commission.
20. NGOZI SAM-OCHEHO

Ngozi is currently Head Compliance, Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC.
She has worked on structuring and executing significant equity and debt raising transactions for companies in the banking, FMCG, logistics, and telecommunications sectors when she joined Stanbic IBTC 2002.
She also pioneered the consolidation of all vendor agreements, negotiated the agreements for the Bank’s branch expansion initiative, known as Project 100. She provided legal advisory services for the Bank’s flagship card projects, the MasterCard Debit and Visa Credit cards, as well as the Bank’s pioneer home loans and vehicle and asset leasing financing schemes.
She is a lawyer with a master’s degree from Harvard Law School, USA.
ADVICE FOR FUTURE LEADERS
Regardless, of where you find yourself, never discard experience garnered. A willingness to learn, helps to change one’s perception of somewhat unsavoury experience, however the greatest loss is not extracting learnings from such experience.
Anytime mediocrity is tolerated, you inadvertently increase your mediocrity, which reduces your level of excellence.
