Academy holds maiden secondary schools football competition for Nasarawa students

The maiden edition of the Innovative Super Cup will kick off in New Karu, Nasarawa State, tomorrow with six schools competing for honours, the organisers have said.

Organised by Coach Raymond Stephen Kantoma and Skillful Soccer Academy, the competition, which is the first edition is expected to bring together, top schools from the region for four weeks of exhilarating football action.

The six participating schools in the competition include Innovative International School, Christ Great Gift Schools, Teepak International Academy, Hope of Destiny International Schools, Babcecil Schools, and Best International School, all in New Karu, Nasarawa State.

The tournament will run from tomorrow to November 2, with matches played exclusively on Saturdays at the host venue, Innovative International School, New Karu.

Expressing excitement at the beginning of the competition, Coach Raymond Kantoma, who is also the founder of Skillful Soccer Academy, said: “The Innovative Super Cup is more than just a competition; it’s a platform to nurture young talents and instill values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students.

“We believe this tournament will inspire a new generation of football stars from Nasarawa State.

“One unique feature of the tournament is that if any match ends in a draw, teams will go straight to a penalty shootout, adding to the intensity and excitement of the games.
 
“Spectators, football enthusiasts, and media houses are encouraged to attend and witness this showcase of young talent. The event promises to be a celebration of grassroots football development, highlighting the skills and dedication of secondary school students in Nasarawa State.”
