‘African Basketball league legally registered’

The management of African Basketball League has described as ‘untrue’ claims by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) that the body is operating an illegal league in Lagos.

The management of African Basketball League has described as ‘untrue’ claims by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) that the body is operating an illegal league in Lagos.

According to the press release made available to The Guardian, the organization stated that the African Basketball League (ABL) is a registered entity in Mauritius

According to the statement, the body is registered as Africa Basketball League Mauritius, which is now doing business in Nigeria as the Africa Sports and Entertainment Management Company (ASEMC).

The Africa league body also disclosed that the league is constituted of six franchises with three franchises Lagos Warriors, Lagos Islanders and Lagos Stallions all based in Nigeria, Dakar Rapids in Senegal, Abidjan Rapids from Cote D’Ivoire and Libreville Izobe based in Gabon.
