Amaruru Battles Eziawa, As Orsu Council Cup Enters Semifinals

Amaruru will take on Eziawa in one of the semifinals of the maiden Orsu Local Council Development Union, Imo State Football Talent Hunt, which holds ever\y weekend at the Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo Campus. The other semifinal will feature favourites, Awo Idemili against Umuhu Okabia.

At the end of the league stage, Awo Idemili, Eziawa, Umuhu Okabia and Amaruru qualified for the last four games of the competition, which has been drawing sons and daughters of the council, as well as other football lovers to the arena.

Meanwhile, participants have commended the idea behind the competition, saying it is not only providing an opportunity for fostering closer ties and uniting communities in Orsu  Local Council of Imo State, but it has also become an avenue to showcase the talents that abound in the area.

The President General of the Union, Prince Raymond Okoligwe, has applauded the support of indigenes of the council for supporting the initiative.

He said: “The overwhelming support and encouragement we have received is unparalleled. I want to specifically thank Chief Casmir Emenihe for boosting the competition.”
