Ahmedu, who took delivery of the bus at the National Stadium, Lagos, at the weekend, described AMK Foundation’s gesture as a big boost to the development of the game in the region.

According to Ahmedu, “AMK Foundation as a partner of FIBA Africa Zone 3 has done a marvelous job in getting this truck. We’re grateful to the AMK Foundation for this and look forward to a rewarding partnership.

“Don’t forget that the founder of AMK Foundation is also the Vice President of FIBA Africa Zone 3 and doubles as the chairman of the Finance, sponsorship and marketing commission. Engr. Kida by virtue of his position got the Foundation to fund this project.

His Foundation it will be recalled played a very significant role in the success of the first 3×3 international championship held in Lagos last June.”

Earlier while handing over the truck to FIBA Zone Three, founder of the AMK Foundation, Engr. Musa Kida, said the gesture was in furtherance of the development of basketball at the grassroots in Nigeria and in Zone 3. Kida, who is also the Vice President of FIBA Africa Zone Three, added that his foundation was committed to the Zone to ensure that basketball was developed at all levels. “This truck is for the benefit of us all and ensuring that the game is developed.

The AMK Foundation decided that instead of the Zone going about to hire a truck each time there is an event, it is beneficial that we have our own so that we can put our synthetic floors, up rights, balls, score board and many more and just move to the venue. It’s not just for the 3×3 tour but for basketball development wherever we get to.”
