Benin Cavs, Gulden Academy qualify for Port Harcourt final

Benin Cavs boys’ U-18 team and Golden Academy Girls’ U-18 team have won the Benin Centre (Edo State) of the South-South Zone 3×3 Basketball tour.

In the U-18 category, Benin Cavs and their female counterparts Golden Academy earned their tickets for the zonal final billed for Port-Harcourt on December 12 and 13, after facing tough challenges from different opponents at the Ogbe Stadium, venue of the elimination series.
Also in the senior men’s event, which was more action packed, Edo Golden State Warriors proved the best side by defeating their opponents, while the Super Stars of Benin were winners in the senior women’s event.

The championship, sponsored by AMK Foundation, was organised to discover talents at the grassroots level.

Coach Victor Umoru, who coordinated Edo centre, said at the end of the event that the tournament was a noble project, which has uplifted the dunking game in the state.
