Can anyone stop Manchester City’s dominance this season?

As the new Premier League season draws near, all football fans and experts are waiting to see which teams strengthen their squads with top talent. One thing’s for sure – Manchester City’s dominance won’t fade, even after losing a few key players. Pep Guardiola is one of the smartest managers alive, and with the budget at his disposal, he always replaces quality with quality.
A short time before the PL’s new season begins, one can’t help but wonder – can anyone stop City? Arsenal came close last year, and if bookies and experts are to be believed, they’re the most serious contender this year as well.
Who Can Contend?
The Premier League is the best football league in the world for a reason. Or reasons. There are at least a quartet of clubs fighting for the trophy, although it usually ends as a two-horse race. That was the case last season when Arsenal led the way for a long time before Manchester City took the trophy home.
The reason for that is simple – City’s longer bench and its champion’s will to survive and fight Betting sites are backing them to become champions once again, as according to bookies, Manchester City’s odds are sitting comfortable at 5/6 right now, with Arsenal trailing behind at 11/2. Of course, the odds will change constantly as the season draws near, but right now, City is the leading favorite, with Arsenal trailing slightly behind.
City never stopped believing in the title even when Arsenal was well ahead. Consequently, the Gunners’ short bench eventually led to its demise. Not that Arteta hasn’t learned from his mistakes. This year, the Gunners have reinforced the team with quality signings, most notable Declan Rice who just became the most expensive English football player of all time.
Besides Rice, Arsenal reinforced its attack with Kai Havertz and defense with Jurrien Timber from Ajax. Folarin Balogun, a loan returnee who impressed in his spell at Stade Reims, makes
Arsenal’s already powerful attack even better. Rumors of adding more players to the squad never fade away, so it’s no wonder that Arsenal might be the most serious contender for City’s throne.
What About Others?
There’s no more competitive league than the PL. Manchester United, Liverpool, and possibly Chelsea can all contend for the top spot. Let’s not forget the rich Newcastle who were brilliant last year. With a few smart additions, Glen Howe’s team can be a surprise, although a title might be a long shot.
Just like every year, Manchester United will spell trouble. Erik Ten Hag’s team showed quality for long stretches last year, and it will be even better this year considering the signings. Chelsea’s squad remains strong, although it remains to be seen how the team plays under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Klopp has reinforced Liverpool’s midfield and attack with interesting players in Alexis MacAlister and Dominik Szoboszlai. After a disappointing last season, you can be surer that the Reds will be back at it. But, overall, Arsenal poses the strongest challenge to City’s new title hunt. Depending on how their transfer window turns out, the Citizens are once again the mightiest team in the PL, and if we had to pick a favorite, it would be Guardiola’s team.
