The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says it is still in shock over some of the new demands made by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, adding that he has well-furnished accommodation in Abuja.
Last week, Chelle shocked the sporting world with a 19-point request for him to stay with the team.
Among the new request is a monthly pay of $130,000, a private SUV with a chauffeur and dedicated security, reflecting concerns about mobility and personal safety.
Chelle is also said to have asked for accommodation with uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply, as well as a fully furnished office equipped with a projector for tactical analysis and reliable internet access to support modern coaching demands.
However, the Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr Mohammed Sanusi, told The Guardian yesterday that Chelle has a well-furnished accommodation in Abuja.
“Chelle has accommodation, a car and a driver,” Sanusi said.
Though, Sanusi refused to explain more on some other request made by Chelle, it was learnt, the NFF is weighing whether to hold discussion with him or not, particularly on his ambitious salary increase.
“Let us not forget that Chelle still has one year left on his current contract. These are fresh demands to be considered for renewal, which remains subject to debate, especially with these terms.
“This is for the technical committee to review before presenting to the board for approval,” a source close the NFF told The Guardian.
