Citrine House has won the Mind Builders School’s 10th biennial inter-house sports competition held at the Agege Stadium, Lagos. Lapis House won the second position, while Peridot House clinched the third place.

Speaking at the event, the school’s Education Director, Mrs Bola Falore, said the inter-house competition is to celebrate not only athletics ability but also unity, discipline and healthy competition that defines the school community.

She said the competition, with the theme “Discovering Sports Titans,” reminds participants that within each of the students lay strength, courage, and greatness waiting to be revealed.

Chairman of the event and Managing Partner, Gbenga Badejo & Co. (Chartered Accountants), Gbenga Badejo, commended the school for organising the competition, saying that they have not only created a space for healthy competition but also a stage for dreams to take flight.  He said: “Every jump, every sprint, and every cheer from the stands helps reveal the potential that is waiting to be shaped into greatness.

“In sports, we discover not only physical strength but character. We learn discipline, patience, determination, and the value of both victory and loss. These are not just sports values-they are life values. And as we cheer these young ones on, let us remember that we are also watching future leaders, innovators, and nation builders in action.”

Principal of Mind Builders High School, Prince Adekunle Agbelu, who is also the chairman of the sports committee, said the school is focused on discovering talented students, with effort paying off as they recently unearthed a young high jumper, ‘who would soon be introduced to Lagos State Sports Council.’

Noting that the school is trying to create an atmosphere where sports thrive and talents continue to emerge, Agbele promised that they are ready to help students channel their God given talents to make sure that they equally stand out.

“We want to catch them young. And the parents are equally very excited that we are showcasing the talents of their children when it comes to sports, he said.
Agbelu revealed that the school is partnering with the football academy of former legendary Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, to nurture budding talents, adding that the collaboration is already yielding fruits as one of the students in SS1 recently went for overseas trials and is awaiting result.
