Success, they say has many associates. A few days after a Nigerian football, Harrison Chinedu, got himself into the Guinness World Records for the farthest distance walked with a ball on the head, many Nigerian companies are now battling to sign him as brand ambassador.

Chinedu walked a distance of 48.04 kilometers in 6 hours, 15 minute to beat the record formerly held by Indian soldier, Naib Singh.

The Nigerian set the record on Sunday, March 6, when he walked from the Redemption Camp along Lagos Ibadan expressway to the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

Now, many companies are falling on top one another in their bid to have his signature.

The President of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, who encouraged Chinedu to embark on the journey, said yesterday in Lagos that the player would break his own record in the nearest future. The exercise was carried out under the auspices of Dr. Rafiu Ladipo Sports Foundation.

Ladipo stated that he usually take interest in everything that concerns Nigerians, hence his decision to back Chinedu.

On his part, the Cambodia-based Chinedu, who started his football career with Busdor FC in Port Harcourt, told The Guardian that he would attempt another World record soon by balancing the ball on his head and riding a bicycle for a long distance.

Chinedu, who hails from Imo State, said he would take his time to study the various offer being dangled by the companies, just as he stated that he would love to play for the Super Eagles.

Indian soldier, Naib Singh, who walked a distance of 45.64km in his country in 2014, held the former record. Singh had beaten a record earlier set by Bangladesh’s Abdul Halim, who travelled 15.2 Km with a ball on his head in October 22, 2011.
