Composition of Sport Reform Committee inadequate, says Adegoke Adelabu
It does not reflect intellectual, professional competences of Nigerians’
Former Green Eagles player, Adegoke Adelabu has described as ‘inadequate’ the composition of the Sports Reform Committee by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung.
The committee, which was inaugurated last week in Abjua has Godwin Kienka as chairman, with ex-Green Eagles skipper Segun Odegbemi, Ayo Ojubato, Bola Oredele, Fatai Williams, retired Colonel Sam Ahmedu, Yusuf Datti, Kayode Thomas and Mary Onyali as members.
But Adelabu, who played club football with Shooting Stars of Ibadan described it as ‘shocking’ yesterday saying: “Nigeria is a nation that should not be handled at the level of the issues we are battling with, but at the level that is expected of a nation with vast human and material resources.
“I think the composition of the committee is inadequate and does not reflect the inherent intellectual and professional competences that the nation is blessed with.”
