Kano Pillars will feature in the 2015 Copa Lagos Club Challenge, which had Enyimba and Barcelona last year.

Chairman of Kano Pillars Football Club, Kabiru Baita, has said that the team will ride on the waves of its participation at the Copa Lagos 2015 Beach Soccer Club Challenge to vie for the 2015/2016 Premier League title.

Alhaji Baita said “the competition will afford his team the opportunity to test their popularity among the vociferous Lagos football fans and equally prepare the team for the forthcoming 2015/16football season.”
Kano Pillars, three times Nigeria Premier League Champions, will compete at the forthcoming Beach Soccer Club Challenge with FC Barcelona, 3SC and Pepsi Academy.

Captain and the longest standing goalkeeper for the club, Joel Afelokhai, believes the Copa Lagos Club Challenge with FC Barcelona, 3SC and Pepsi will be a learning curve and added experience for the players as beach soccer is still relatively new in Nigeria.

According to him, “the players will have a new orientation that will expose them to new techniques to beach soccer, which will be used as pre-season for the 2015/16 Nigeria Premier League as is obtained in Europe.’’
