Senegal celebrate their success after receiving the Copa Lagos trophy.

Following a successful 2019 edition of the annual Copa Lagos Beach Soccer Championship, which held at the Eko Atlantic last week, the promoters of the competition, Kinetic Sports Management has pledged to continue adopting ways of improving on the competition. They have also thanked their sponsors, including FCMB, Pepsi, Betking and Eko Atlantic for their financial and material support for the eighth edition of Copa Lagos, which lived up to its already high standards.

The organisers said the sponsors did a lot to enhance the match day experience of fans with lots of fun and excitement at their separate experience centers, including side attractions that were not limited to performances from top artistes, games, food and many other events that kept fans dancing into the wee hours of the night.

Over the last eight years, Copa Lagos has grown from strength to strength leading its acceptance as a world class event on global tourism map through the merger of beach culture and lifestyle.

Kinetic Sports said it was determined to ensure that Copa Lagos met the social and economic values for all stakeholders, adding it aimed at creating an avenue for “brands to engage and connect with their targeted market to understand the behaviour and consumption preferences, as well as where SMEs have the window to also showcase their products and services.”

At the end of the competition, the Teranga Lions of Senegal won the beach soccer diadem for the second time. Their three straight wins against Brazil (5 – 4), Nigeria (5 -2) and England (3 – 2) gave them nine points, with Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles settling for six points after two wins over England 7-3 and Brazil 7-5.

The South American and world beach soccer kings finished with only three points to finish third in the three-day championship.
