A BRAND new football ground, the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) in Ilupeju, Lagos, will host the 2015 edition of the Nigeria Bankers Games (NBG), which draws were held last week at the Oriental Hotel on Victoria Island. 

The recently completed ground has been described by the organisers as “the perfect ground for the flagship tournament of Corporate Nigeria Games, as its lush green and even surface will bring out the brilliance of the players.”

The draw witnessed by former Nigerian international, Sam Sodje and industry big wigs, including General Manager, HCD, Skye Bank, Mr. Femi Aribaloye; Head, Bank Sector Sales, West Africa, Standard Chartered bank, Mr. Funlola Oni; and Group Head, Marketing & Corporate Relations UBA, Mr. Emeka Udegbulem; amongst others, also featured a raffle for guests at the venue, who won exciting prizes. It also witnessed the formal handover of the tournament trophy by UBA and a presentation of the replica trophy to the defending champions.

The two all time highest winners, UBA and Skye Bank, were the seeded teams with the defending champions, UBA leading Group A which drew First Bank, Heritage Bank, Union Bank, Sterling Bank and Fidelity Bank.

In Group B with Skye Bank are Keystone Bank, ECOBANK, Standard Chartered Bank, Diamond Bank and Zenith Bank. The tournament will commence on September 19.
