China Acheru, the Media Officer of Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt, has announced that the club has engaged 13 new players in the mid-season transfer window.

This is contained in a statement he released in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

It said that two of the new players were from the Premier League Clubs, nine from from amateur sides and football academies and one unattached.

“Amakiri George, the unattached, had stared for Ocean Boys but was last in the books of sharks FC in 2012,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the biggest addition was Oduokpe Oghogho of Bayelsa United.

It said Oghogho played for Sunshine Stars in the 2013/14 season and scored against Dolphins of Port Harcourt.

Another major sign on, was Ebitimi Agogo from Bayelsa United

The statement, then quoted Stanley Eguma, Coach of Dolphins as saying that management had done its best to strengthen the club as the fight to move out from relegation area intensified.

“It is not a one man show. It is a club at which every department must work. We did not have the money to get players but I have done my best to get these ones.

“We will keep working hard and will not go on relegation,” he said.

Eguma said five of the new players already had their debuts against Abia Warriors in Port Harcourt on Match Day 22.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Eguma had commended the five players for their performance against Abia Warriors on Aug. 9.
