FORMER Flying Eagles assistant coach, Alloy Agu, has heap praises on the victorious Flying Eagles, for wining the African U-20 Championship in Senegal for the seventh time, saying the performance has proved that Nigeria has abundant talents at the grassroots level.

But Agu, who also showered encomiums on Coach Manu Garba for the success in Senegal, has advised the players not to allow the victory gets into their heads, saying that a bigger battle awaits them in the World Cup holding in New Zealand.

The former Super Eagles’ goalkeeper said that the team needs to commence early preparation for the World Cup to enable them blend properly.

Agu said that for the Eagles to replicate their quality performance at the World Cup, the team’s handlers should instill tactical discipline on the players, adding that it would lead to more success for the country.
He also called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to ensure the team gets the best preparation for the World Cup.

“Flying Eagles have put smiles on the faces of Nigerians for coming out victorious in the AYC. They should not allow the success in Senegal to affect their preparations for the World Cup.

They should understand they have a big task ahead, which is wining the U-20 World Cup for Nigeria. I see great potentials in these boys, if the coaches keep making them play as a team. They need to commence early preparations for the World Cup,”
