Eagles’ camp bubbles, as all invited players arrive

• Fans to pay N500, N1000 to watch match
The Super Eagles’ Abuja camp was a beehive of activities yesterday following the arrival of all the 23 players invited by Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, for Saturday’s Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Algeria.

Only Belgium-based defender, Elderson Echiejile, was still making his way to the camp as at Tuesday evening. Coach Rohr and his assistants put the players through their paces twice on Tuesday. They will also train this morning before flying to Uyo in the afternoon.

In camp are goalkeepers Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Dele Alampasu; defenders Abdullahi Shehu, Musa Muhammed, Leon Balogun, William Paul Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Uche Agbo and Kingsley Madu; midfielders Mikel John Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, John Ogu, Wilfred Ndidi and Oghenekaro Etebo and; forwards Victor Moses, Brown Ideye, Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Moses Simon, Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa.

Meanwhile, fans, who will throng the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, to watch the Super Eagles against Algeria battle for three points on Saturday will have to pay N1000 and N500 for covered seats and popular side respectively.

Speaking in Uyo yesterday, the Permanent Secretary in the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Nse Edem stated: “Given the importance of the match and the high expectation of Nigerians, the match tickets are certainly worth more than what they are being offered.

“However, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has charged the Organizing Committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Sir Etekamba Umoren to make the tickets affordable so that we can have a full house to cheer the Super Eagles on the day.”
