Emir tasks FOSLA club for more glory after nationwide league’s slot

The FOSLA Football Academy, which featured as FOSLA Football Club (FFC) in the recently held Federal Capital Territory (FCT) football league, were yesterday in Karshi, Abuja celebrated as heroes for their dedication and determination in securing a Nationwide League slot.

The team, which is made up of some former FOSLA Academy are currently undergraduates in the universities of neighbouring states, joined and metamorphosed into FFC that stunned FCT soccer enthusiasts in their maiden outing to finish second. Their exploit, however, earned FFC a slot in the Nationwide League, when the new season kicks off next year.

Speaking at the occasion, the Emir of Karshi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ismaila Mohammed MFR through the Galadima Karshi, Prince Suleiman Abubakar, said a good number of the players in the team would soon break into the national teams, especially the Eagles in the nearest future.

He said the feat was achieved in less than three weeks the team was established at the FCT FA League, where FFC conceded six goals and scored 26 from nine matches played to finish second.

“The Karshi Emirate Council appreciate your efforts by bringing Kirshi to limelight. When the news of your participation in the FCT FA League came to us at the council, we made out time to watch some of your matches.

“In the performance of your matches that we watched, we have no doubt that there are potential Super Eagles players amongst you. We saw some future Super Eagles stars in the team,” Prince Abubakar said.

He added that, “the Emir is planning something big to promote the club and academy. Your first ever outing in the FCT FA League has brought us lots of positive mention in the media. We will do all we can to assist in your campaign in the Nationwide League.”
