Enyimba, Rangers to know CAF Confederation Cup group tomorrow
Nigeria’s representatives in the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup, Enyimba of Aba and Enugu Rangers, will find out their group opponents when the draw is made tomorrow.
According to CAF, the draw for the group phase of the CAF Confederation Cup will hold by 10.00 a.m. at the African football headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
CAF said the 16 qualified teams would be divided into four groups of four teams each for the group phase of the second-tier club championship.
The teams still in the competition are Al Masry, Pyramids (Egypt), HUSA, RS Berkane (Morocco), Enyimba, Rangers (Nigeria), Paradou (Algeria), ESAE (Benin), San Pedro (Cote d’Ivoire), Motema Pembe (DR Congo), Horoya (Guinea), Al Nasr (Libya), Djoliba (Mali), Nouadhibou (Mauritania), Bidvest Wits (South Africa) and Zanaco (Zambia).
Enyimba, which fell from the CAF Champions League (after losing to Al Hilal of Sudan) to the Confederation Cup, defeated TS Galaxy of South Africa 4-1 on aggregate after two legs in the last qualifying round of the competition.
Rangers, on the other hand, beat ASC Kara of Togo via the away goals rule after ending their tie 2-2 over two legs.
Rangers lost the first leg in Lome 2-1 and won the reverse fixture 1-0 in Enugu.
