
Addressing journalists in Lagos yesterday, president of Lagos Polo Club, Ade Laoye, explained that the championship is vital to the club, adding that the best players from within and outside the country will be participating in the tournament to add glamour to the event.
Laoye assured that the club will put all logistics needed in place for a successful championship, just as he thanked GTB Bank and other sponsors of the tournament for associating with his club.
“The championship is another opportunity for us to promote the game in Nigeria. Polo is a competitive sport that needs to be developed in the country and the Lagos Polo Club is at the forefront to promote it in Nigeria,” he said.
In the draws revealed yesterday, the opening game will feature Lagos STL against Ibadan Megamound, while Lagos Powerhorse will battle with Kano Titans in the second game.
The competition will feature many other interesting games in the two- week championship.
