Falana & Falana will kick off the quarterfinals of the Bankole Olumide Aluko (BOA) memorial football competition, also known as the Lawyers League, when they meet Lagos State Ministry of Justice (LSMJ) in one of the matches of the last eight tomorrow.

This year’s edition of the Lawyers League began with 16 teams drawn from some of the biggest law firms in the country, who gather every Sunday at the AstroTurf 2000 Ikoyi to vie for honours in football.

The opening match will kick off by 4.20 p.m. and will be followed by another quarterfinal game involving Advocaat and Tayo Oyetibo/Bayo Osipitan.

The third quarterfinal will see Olajide Oyewole locking horns with Aluko & Oyebode, while the battle between Banwo & Ighodalo and Olisa Agbakoba Legal will bring the games of the last eight to a close.

To qualify for the quarterfinals, Falana & Falana beat Pinheiro 3-0, while LSMJ defeated Aelex 2-1, just as Banwo & Ighodalo edged out SCOOB/Renascence 1-0.

Olisa Agbokoba Legal got its quarterfinals ticket by beating Simmons Cooper/Femi Atoyebi 1-0; Advocaat beat Aluko & Oyebode 1-0, while Olajide Oyewole and Tayo Oyetibo/Bayo Osipitan drew 1-1.

Advocaat and Olajide Oyewole joined the quarterfinals train as best losers based on the goals they scored during normal play. Both teams finished in the seventh and eighth positions respectively after the last round of matches.
