The Old Students Association of the Federal Government College, Ogbomoso (FEGOCOSSA), will hold its maiden sports fiesta on January 27 at Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.

The association’s head, Technical, Abdulmalik Adigun, said Adamasingba Stadium was chosen as the venue of the event because it mirrors the excellence the association represents.

He disclosed that the organisers have also partnered with health practitioners to offer a healthy and safe environment during the event.

The maiden sports fiesta, with the theme: “Bridging the Bond,” he added, will be anchored by the association’s sports team.

Adigun, who said the event is not merely a sporting event, disclosed that there is a deliberate effort to mend fractures and reignite the flame of love, peace, and unity.

Adigun said: “Sporting events lined up include football matches between houses, novelty matches between 80s and 90s set, athletics, aerobics, table tennis and ‘Ayoo Logan,’ among others.

“The event will also feature a showcase of an amazing line-up of DJs and up and coming talents within members of the association to display their musical prowess and also provide a platform for networking among members of the association and other guests.

“The association not only wants to celebrate athletes, but also leave an enduring mark in the city and it is, hereby, inviting all members of Federal Government College Ogbomoso Old Students Association (FEGOCOSSA), All Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSANS), non-members of unity schools within Ibadan and across the globe to join her as she creates a memorable history.’’
