Firm plans stakeholders’ tourney in Oshodi/Isolo, Lagos
To promote youth enhancement through positive competition, which will also help in discovering creative young minds from the grassroots, Holmes Viu Properties Ltd, Lagos, plans to organize a competition amongst schools in Oshodi and Isolo area of the state.
To be known as Holmes Inter-school Competition, the competition would be divided into three categories of sports, education and cultural display.
The CEO of Holme Viu Properties and coordinator of Holmes Inter-School Competition (HISC), Emeka Ikwuagwu, said “the stakeholders meeting was organized to bring student representatives together to discuss how to move this upcoming competition forward and arrive at a concrete agreement to ensure a hitch-free event.
“Maximum security will be put in place to make it safe for participants and every other person attending the event. The Isolo Local Government, Universal Basic Education, Oshodi and others are involved in this and I believe it will be a great outing.”
Also speaking on the event, HOD, Educational district, Isolo LCDA, Olajumoke Anike Akinyemi, said she decided to join in the project because it concerns Isolo Local Government area. “It is a good thing because not many people want to give back to the society that made them. For this firm to have it in mind to embark on this is laudable and a step in the right direction.”
Akinyemi believes the programme would impact the lives of youths and develop them cognitively, emotionally and psychomotor learning because it would fall within their academic line.
She advised youths to appreciate the programme by putting all their best and doing it with all their hearts.
To G.M Olaiya, a representative of Anglican Primary School, Ishaga-Tedo, the project “will make a difference and encourage young, gifted children to showcase their talents. After this meeting, we will go back and do our own homework to ensure things work effectively without interference.”
