MITKO Dobrev, who led Heartland of Owerri’s from 2008 to 2010, has joined newly promoted Glo Nigeria Premier League side, Gabros of Nnewi, reports Africanfootball.com.

According to the General manager of Gabros, Olisa Onuchukwu, “Mitko Dobrev is the new head coach of Gabros. He joined us from Ghanaian club Accra Hearts of Oak and we believe that his knowledge of African club football will to a very large extent help us achieve our lofty aims in the 2014/2015 football season.”

He added, “Our pre-season tour of two European countries has to a great extent exposed our players to some new things which will help us when the league commences.

“Our target is simply to ruffle some big feathers and stake a claim for a continental ticket.”

Meanwhile, Heartland have settled for Coach Erasmus Onuh, who they have tasked to win the Nigerian league championship in the forthcoming 2014/2015 season.

“Yes, I can confirm that Erasmus Onuh is the new technical adviser of Heartland FC.

“He was unveiled to the sports loving people of Imo State on Monday and he was given a one-year contract with a clear mandate to turn the fortunes of the club around for the better.

“He was specifically mandated to wrestle the league trophy from the grasps of current champions, Kano Pillars.”

Onuh has handled the country’s home-based team, as well as ABS FC of Ilorin. He handled Sunshine Stars last season from the second round.

Heartland ended last season in 10th place under coach Kelechi Emetole, who has since moved to neighbours, Enugu Rangers.
