HE can be referred to as a baby-faced assassin for his ruthlessness in front of goal and Samuel Chukwueze has enthused about the prospect of getting among the goals for the Golden Eaglets in their second game against Guinea today at the on-going African Under-17 Championship.

Chukwueze, who has scored a cumulative 13 goals in 37 matches, including a beauty in the 4-0 win over Congo Democratic Republic in the qualifiers, missed the first game against Niger on Sunday after a freak injury but has since returned to full fitness.

“It was hard to sit on the bench watching others play against Niger on Sunday because I wanted to showcase what I have but what was most important was the victory,” said Chukwueze, who adores Dutch star, Arjen Robben.

Chukwueze is indeed a lad for the big occasion and was the star when he helped his academy win the 2013 Under-17 Iberia Cup in Estoril, Portugal. But speaking about the moment, he said he was at the ready should he be given the nod to play against Guinea.

“I’m very fine and ready to go,” said the self-assured lad. “I’m ready to mark and push the attack more if I’m fielded and by the grace of God, we shall win the match against Guinea on Wednesday.”

Meanwhile, Kingsley Michael, fondly called Wacko-Jacko for being stylish on the ball, could be back again for the Golden Eaglets as early as today.

Michael was in the thick of action as the Golden Eaglets soared to a 2-0 win against Niger Republic, but limped off when he was knocked on the thigh by an adventurous defender.

He is back and running under close supervision of the team’s medical staff. “I’m feeling much better,” an excited Michael said as if he had won a lottery.
